[ slightly bewildered, she nods, then waits for him to return. When he does - and with an actual bow - she looks as surprised as one might expect. ]

Uwah... I never even noticed that you had something like this, Morgan. Where did you find it?

It was a gift from Noire, as a matter of fact! I think she picked it off a stray enemy.

[ From that one time he fought her and Morgan... whoops but thanks grima. He holds the bow out to Ada, withholding the arrow for now. ]

Give it a feel. This one's got a fair bit of poundage to its pull, but you'll work your way up to it in no time.

[ a stray enemy? That's a little gruesome to imagine - and she flinches a little, though she can hardly imagine the delicate Noire hurting someone like that - but she does accept the bow, albeit hesitantly. ]

O... Okay. I'll try...!

[ and, holding the bow vertically, she does indeed try, wrapping slender fingers around the bowstring and pulling. Or... trying to pull.

As it turns out, serious bows are pretty hard to draw. Ada, who's been raised in soft, cushy surroundings and never lifted anything much heavier than cat litter, can't pull it very far. ] Hn... I-it's really hard...!

[ While she's giving that a go, he grabs the teapot from the stove, sets it on the table, and sticks the teabag in. ]

It's certainly harder than it looks! But far from impossible. If Noire can do it, there's no reason why you can't!

[ Eventually. Very eventually. ]

[ thank you, Morgan, she's so distracted with this sudden and unexpected archery business that she'd forgotten about it. She's still huffing and puffing trying to pull back the string as he does so. After a moment or two, however, she gives up, sighing heavy and letting her hand drop away. ]

N-no, I can't... Noire must be really strong! She looked so delicate, too...

Aw, you're not giving yourself enough credit. I was pretty awful at archery when I was starting out too! And Noire probably had to work at it for ages to get to her level. When she has a mind to get something done, she never lets up.

I see... But that only makes her stronger, I think. [ a pause as she looks at the bow in her hand again, then over to Morgan. ] Can you pull it?

[ giving it to him now! Wow her with your manly strength, Morgan. ]

Where I'm from, we don't really use bows like this anymore... It's the first time I've held one.

[ He nocks his arrow to the string and glances at her curiously before drawing it back easily, aiming at the door to their room. ]

No kidding? Then what do you use instead?

Well, guns, of course, [ she replies simply, watching as he pulls the bow. Goodness, he makes it look easy. Morgan must be really strong, after all... Ada's impressed. ] ... You have magic in your world, I suppose, so you probably don't need them.

I see! Though... from what I've seen, guns are a lot more efficient than our tome magic.

H-huh? That can't be...! Magic is so amazing!

It is! I love magic. But you could probably shoot a mage five times over before he could finish his incantation.

[ just sayin' you can kill a lot of people with guns ]

I... I guess that's true. Somehow, that makes me feel kind of sad...

[ she loves magic, too! Even if it doesn't really exist in her world. ]

A little, right? But there are always the other types of magic that heal or protect that no gun can replace! Unless there are healing guns out there, but I haven't seen 'em yet.

That's true... I hope that it doesn't ever disappear completely. [ then what would she collect. ] ... I'm a little bit jealous of you and Rose. For you, magic is so commonplace.

Magic is pretty great! But it's commonplace for you too now, right? There's more magic here than you can shake a stick at.

T-that might be so, but... [ it doesn't make it any less exciting! Ada seems to ponder something for a moment, then admits, bashful: ] Well, to tell you the truth, back home... I was really interested in magic, too. I used to read about it all the time. Even though there isn't a lot in my world, there are stories and legends. So being able to see so much of it here is like a dream for me... I just wish that I could properly enjoy it all.

Ah, Sonia's world was like that too. [ Does she even know Sonia... he has no idea. ] She was telling me that dragons only ever existed in stories in her world! Is that the case for you too?

Mm, that's right. Are they real in your world, Morgan?

[ she looks slightly enchanted by the idea. ]

Mm-hm. I'm friends with a few! If they ever drop by Haven, I'll be sure to introduce you. The thing is, dragons in my time can only assume their fangy, scaly forms with the aid of a Dragonstone. The rest of the time, they're just kinda cute and lovable people.

[ His view of dragonfolk is somewhat skewed... ]

So I was thinking! Maybe your dragons really existed in the past, but lost their Dragonstones and/or the ability to transform over time?

[ Wow. She's never heard this conspiracy theory before, but, as Ada is wont to do, she likes it immediately, and leans in with interest ]

You mean... you think there could be dragons walking amongst us, and we just have no way of knowing?

[ ADA YOU'RE GETTING REALLY INTO THIS but Morgan is all too happy to encourage this behavior. ]

Totally! The dragons who refused to seal their powers into stones and adopt human forms became mindless, so they might have gone extinct. But even looking like humans, the rest can live for thousands and thousands of years! Maybe they've secreted themselves away to some remote corner in your world?

[ she is totally into this, look at the sparkle in her eyes ]

Yes...! That could be possible! After all, there are plenty of supernatural things in my world! Most people don't know about them, but I've studied a lot. I would love to meet a dragon...
