[ He smiles and holds her a little closer when she squirms. ]

Not even... the hot springs? Or the beach?!

The last time we went to the hot springs, I overheated and Kjelle had to save me from drowning... s-so probably not.

I keep forgetting that we're not technically from the same world... and thinking of doing things without you, it's... [ she hesitates, before releasing a soft sigh. ] It makes me feel lonely.

[ He's quiet for a moment, shifting his forehead to rest on her shoulder, and rubs an absent thumb on her thigh. ]

... Me too. But you know... I want you to be happy, Noire. No matter what happens.

I know... [ but she bites her lip, sucking in a quiet breath. ] But I've lost so many-- I really don't want to lose you, too.

Whenever anyone leaves [ or gets stored away ]... I think it's best to focus on what was gained rather than what was lost. It would make me sad to know that I was making you sad. So...

[ He trails off for a moment. He can't deny that he wouldn't be sad to lose her too, so maybe he's just a hypocrite. But they have to try, right? He finishes softly. ]

[ That leaves a little pang in his chest. But he presses a kiss to her cheek and smiles up at her. ]

But there's no point in worrying about it now; there's no telling what will happen. Like Mother says, we're not pawns of some scripted fate! And if there's some chance we can be together... I'll take it.

Morgan... [ that's asking a lot of him, and she knows it, so Noire takes a moment of silence-- before she slowly smiles back (tremulous as it is). ]

... Me too. It's something we'll have to work towards, I know, and it might even be impossible, but maybe... it's too early to give up yet?

I won't give up. Not ever. If we can rewrite timelines and meet like this -- if we can exist alongside so many amazing people and different technology.... thingies, then meeting again can't be impossible.

[ He gives her leg a gentle squeeze. ] The fact that we're both here now is proof that it's possible, isn't it?

[ ... She has the best boyfriend, and she knows it. It's why Noire can smile, moving to kiss his forehead. ]
